Huffaz International distributes 40 tonnes of food aid to Kedah tahfiz centres

PENDANG, Aug 8 (Bernama) — Huffaz International, a dakwah body, has distributed a total of 40 tonnes of food items and basic necessities to 42 tahfiz centres in Kedah.

Its founder Firdaus Kamaruzzaman said the food supply donated by the public would benefit 2,500 private tahfiz students registered with the Kedah Islamic Religious Affairs Department (JHEAIK).

“All these food supplies are donated through the buy and give platform at www.infaqberas.my introduced by Huffaz International, where the public can make purchases and the distribution will be managed by us.

“Through the website, donors can track and trace where their contributions will be distributed, making this system more transparent,” he said when met at Maahad Tahfiz here today.

The aid programme is in collaboration with the Kedah State Tahfiz Association and JHEAIK.

Firdaus said the aid initiative was started two years ago to ease the burden of tahfiz centres that were cut off from food supplies during the Movement Control Order (MCO) and continues until now.

He added that the organisation planned to extend the aid to more tahfiz centres throughout the country.

“We call on the community and people out there to support the buy and give campaign on our infak platform so that more aid can be channelled to tahfiz centres,” he said.
