Jakim to continue to implement initiatives to empower KAFA in stages

The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (Jakim) is constantly introducing initiatives aimed at empowering the Quran and Fardu Ain (KAFA) programme, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Idris Ahmad.

He said the improvements encompass the management aspects, the welfare of KAFA teachers and supervisors, providing competency training and one-off special aid, as well as ensuring the safety of the premises and infrastructure.

“The efforts by Jakim is being carried out in collaboration with the state KAFA implementing agencies and the Education Ministry.

“We need to work together to carry out the mission of empowering religious knowledge among our children,” he said in his speech at the National KAFA Ihtifal (IKK) and Religious Secondary School Ihtifal Ilmi (MIISMAM) prize-giving ceremony, here tonight.

At the event, Muhammad Irfan Mohd Amir from Kedah emerged as winner of the MIISMAM Quran recitation competition, while Irfan Hakimie Haimi from Perak bagged first place in the IKK storytelling contest.

Idris also said religious stream students at Islamic education institutions also have the potential to shine and become the second echelon of the country’s leadership in the future.

At the function, Idris also launched the official logo of KAFA that will be used by all implementing agencies nationwide.

He said the logo will be the benchmark that symbolises the image and prestige of KAFA as a quality and trusted programme.
