ALOR SETAR, Kedah Darul Aman FC (KDA FC) today announced a collaboration with Gold Rush Venture Sdn Bhd to offer free residential rooftop solar panel installations.
KDA FC owner Tan Sri Dr Mohd Daud Bakar said through this collaboration, KDA FC would act as the marketing agent for the offer, while Gold Rush Venture would be the contractor responsible for installing the solar panels on rooftops.
“This project provides a convenience, otherwise you would need to use your own money to install solar panels on your rooftops, or take a bank loan.
“This scheme aims to save on your monthly electricity bills, ranging from 30 to 60 per cent, depending on the weather in your area and other factors,” he said at a press conference here today.
He said KDA FC was excited about the collaboration because each kilowatt or megawatt saved would provide a small return to KDA FC, which would help the Canaries’ financial standing.
Meanwhile, Gold Rush Venture’s Director of Business Development, Datuk Seri Sharizal Sarip, said
the company was honoured to partner with KDA FC in helping the people of Kedah specifically, and Malaysians in general, who wished to install solar panels.
“The company will cover all costs for the solar panel installation, insurance, and maintenance for as long as the homeowner uses the solar panel. There are no hidden costs, so the public need not worry.
“However, there are some conditions for the solar installation: the user’s electricity bill must be more than RM250, and there must be at least 50 houses in one residential area willing to install the solar panels. Once 50 homeowners agree, they will be given forms,” he said.
Sharizal said homeowners need to provide the required documents, which will then be submitted to Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) for approval.
“TNB will deal directly with all selected homeowners, TNB will give the approval, and our company will handle the installation. So, I hope the people of Kedah will participate in this solar panel installation, thereby helping KDA FC to progress
further,” he said.
