MADA Entrepreneurs Record RM160 Million In Sales This Year

Kuala lumpur: Entrepreneurs under the guidance of the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) recorded total sales worth RM160 million from January 1 to September 30 this year, said MADA chairman Datuk Dr Ismail Salleh. He stated that the impressive sales value was achieved through various MADA-implemented programmes such as the Young Agropreneur Programme, Agrotourism Programme, Product Development and Branding (2P), Human Capital Programme, as well as the Processing, Packaging and Marketing Centre (3P).

According to BERNAMA News Agency, in efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship development in the Muda area, MADA remains committed to implementing entrepreneur development programmes focusing on capacity building, skills enhancement, and competitiveness. These initiatives are supported by allocations from the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security (KPKM) and include entrepreneur development grants, generic and technical training courses, business mentoring, market access, and financing facilities.

Dr Ismail highlighted that MADA’s continuous efforts have benefitted more than 2,419 entrepreneurs across various sectors. MADA’s success was further evidenced at the Top 20 Agrotourism Centre Awards Ceremony under KPKM 2025, where three MADA agrotourism entrepreneurs from Tamteh Multicentre, Anjung Kuala, and Nipah Klasik achieved annual sales exceeding RM1 million. Additionally, MADA organized the three-day MADA Food Industry Hub Carnival, which runs until this Saturday, to empower entrepreneurs in the Muda area.

During the event, Dr Ismail mentioned that 20 grants were presented under the Young Agropreneur Programme Phase 3/2025, along with awards to two entrepreneurs under the High-Impact Product Entrepreneur Award for the SME Category 1/2 Year 2025. He emphasized that the presentation of these grants demonstrates KPKM’s commitment, through MADA, to encourage the development of more entrepreneurs. MADA believes that these entrepreneur development programmes are key drivers in increasing income among target groups, strengthening food security, and contributing to sustainable national economic growth.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Danial Haikal Husmizar, 21, from Arau, Perlis, who received a RM30,000 Young Agropreneur Grant for his goat-rearing project that he started in 2021, expressed his surprise at being selected. He noted that the grant would assist in various aspects of his business, including sales and improving the goat pen, and acknowledged the significant support MADA has provided to his business.
