Kuala lumpur: The year 2026 will require the Ministry of Communications to be not only prepared, but more agile, resilient, and forward-looking in navigating risks and uncertainty, said its secretary-general, Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah. He also expressed hope that 2026 would bring renewed strength, optimism, and more meaningful achievements for the organisation, the nation, and the people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Abdul Halim conveyed his wishes for the New Year in a video message posted on the ministry's Facebook page. He stated, "Happy New Year 2026. May our steps at the Ministry of Communications always be guided by wisdom and courage."

Reflecting on 2025, Abdul Halim noted that the year had tested the government's ability to adapt to an increasingly complex landscape. He highlighted the challenges that spanned multiple dimensions, including communication, technology, the economy, social cohesion, security, and human development.
