MOF Finds No Outstanding Regulatory Issues with Binance

Kuala lumpur: The Ministry of Finance (MOF) has confirmed that there are currently no outstanding regulatory issues concerning Binance that would necessitate action from the Securities Commission Malaysia (SC), as per the latest assessments. According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOF disclosed in a written reply published on Parliament's website that compliance measures have already been taken, including the reinstatement of Binance on the SC's Investor Alert List. The ministry emphasized the SC's ongoing commitment to monitoring developments and taking appropriate action in the event of any legal breaches or emergent risks to local investors. The MOF also highlighted that the Binance website and application continue to be inaccessible to Malaysian users. The ministry assured that the SC has carefully evaluated various factors in its decision-making process, such as the severity of any breaches, the potential impact and risks posed to local investors, and the implications for the integrity and stability of M alaysia's capital market. The ministry's statement was in response to a query from Lim Guan Eng (PH-Bagan) regarding whether Binance would remain on the Investor Alert List, considering the platform's perceived risks to Malaysian investors who continue to engage with it.
