MTA Launches Takaful Masuk Kampung Roadshow in Batu Maung

Batu maung: The Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) has launched the Takaful Masuk Kampung (TMK) roadshow to promote financial literacy and community well-being, aligning with the National Strategy for Financial Literacy 2026-2030 (NS2.0). This initiative was organized in collaboration with Penang Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Dr. Mohamad Abdul Hamid, at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Sungai Ara.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, MTA chief executive officer Mohd Radzuan Mohamed stated that the program aims to provide education on financial management and emphasize the importance of takaful protection. The event supports the Financial Literacy Month (FLM 2025) and the NS2.0, recently launched by the Financial Education Network under Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia.

The carnival, inaugurated by Mohamad, included activities such as community aerobics, an anti-scam talk by Bank Negara Malaysia, a children’s coloring contest, and pocket talks by takaful operators. Mohd Radzuan highlighted that the TMK program not only offers insurance protection but also promotes understanding and social values like compassion and shared responsibility.

The TMK initiative is part of the Hijrah 27 Transformation Plan, focusing on Meaningful Awareness and Inclusive Growth. It underscores the takaful industry’s role as a syariah-compliant protection system based on humanity and collective responsibility. MTA plans to expand the TMK program to other states like Perak, Perlis, and Sarawak to enhance public awareness of takaful.

Mohamad noted that over 2,000 visitors from Batu Maung and nearby areas attended the carnival. A special promotion was introduced for eligible Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah recipients, allowing them to redeem a RM30 Perlindungan Tenang voucher, ensuring low-income groups have access to affordable protection.
