NADI Smart Services Reach 1.4 Million Participations Nationwide, Announces MCMC

Sabah: The National Information Dissemination Centre (NADI) Smart Services, which offers collective internet access to communities, especially in rural areas, has recorded 1.4 million participations nationwide as of December last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) emphasized that this figure demonstrates the positive response and the ongoing necessity for digital skills and socio-economic development within communities. NADI Smart Services encompass various programs, including e-Sports, DiLea Tuition, and NADI Skilled Gadget Repair. This announcement coincides with the Community Engagement Day (HBK) organized by MCMC in partnership with NADI Taman Desa Belantik.

The HBK event was attended by notable figures such as Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil, Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Abdul Halim Hamzah, MCMC State Affairs Sector chief Bukhari Yahya, and Bernama Editor-in-Chief Arul Rajoo Durar Raj. NADI aims to empower communities through programs focused on entrepreneurship, lifelong e-learning, self-wellbeing, and responsible internet usage.

MCMC also reported that in 2025 alone, 9,666 Safe Internet Campaign programs were conducted nationwide, highlighting the government's dedication to promoting safe and responsible digital usage, especially among children. The HBK initiative underscores NADI's role as a comprehensive community center that aids in digital skills development, entrepreneurship, and the dissemination of government initiatives at the grassroots level.

The program also featured exhibitions and services from other agencies, such as an eKasih counter by the Prime Minister's Department Implementation Coordination Unit and an Electrical Safety Campaign by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). During his one-day working visit to Johor, Fahmi interacted with children, advising them on wise gadget usage and engaged with local residents.
