NS govt’s Aidilfitri open house on May 21

SEREMBAN, May 11 (Bernama) – The Negeri Sembilan government will be hosting an Aidilfitiri Open House on May 21 at Dewan Majlis Bandaraya Seremban, here.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the state government expected about 20,000 guests after the last time it was held in 2019 at the same venue but could not be held for two years thereafter due to COVID-19 movement control orders.

“We will present an invitation to the Yang Dipertuan Besar of Negeri Sembilan Tuanku Muhriz Almarhum Tuanku Munawir. InsyaAllah (God willing), about 20,000 will attend or maybe more.

“The open house will be from 11 am to 3 pm. The public is asked to be present to enliven the event,” he told a press conference after chairing the state executive council meeting here today.

In another development, Aminuddin denied that there was logging activity in the Gunung Telapak Buruk area in Jelebu near here and said instead it was only the activity of removing fallen trees following landslides along the route to the Telapak Buruk Transmitter Station recently.

He said for that purpose, the state Forestry Department had appointed a company with the expertise to clean up the 14-kilometre route.

“No vehicles could pass through the area, so we asked the forestry department to appoint an expert to remove fallen trees and clean up debris,” he said.

At the beginning of last year, electricity supply to Telapak Buruk Transmitter Station was disrupted and it could not operate due to landslides following the floods that hit the state then.
