KUALA TERENGGANU, Terengganu Polygon Cycling Team’s (TSG) new acquisition Muhammad Nur Aiman Rosli succeeded in winning the second stage of the Tour of Thailand 2.1 race today in Sukhothai in northern Thailand.
The experienced time trial specialist won the race after edging out 14 other teams in the race over 202.3 kilometres with a time of 4 hours 39 minutes 17 seconds.
Nur Aiman was closely chased to the finish by the rider from Malaysia Pro Cycling (MPC), Mohamad Izzat Hilmi Abdul Halil who came in second and Lucas Carstensen from German club Roojai Insurance (RDI) in third position.
Nur Aiman said getting roasted in the scorching hot weather up to 40 degrees Celsius was his biggest challenge to excel today.
Not to mention the tour taking place in the fasting month of Ramadan which requires him to be more focused in the strength-sapping heat of every race.
‘The race was very challenging. I paced out with tactics in the last 50 km of the race and saved my energy for the remaining 20 km.
‘I’m glad I m
anaged to present this victory to the (TSG) team that I just joined this year,’ said Nur Aiman who was with Team Sapura Cycling from 2019 until it folded last year (2023).
Nur Aiman is confident that TSG will be able to climb more podiums in four more stages of the Tour of Thailand 2.1 race that will end on April 6.
In addition to Nur Aiman, five other TSG riders racing in the Tour of Thailand are Kee Zhe Yie, Irwandie Lakasek, Aiman Cahyadi, Jesse Ewart and Anatolii Budiak.
