KOTA KINABALU, More than 20,000 guests attended the Sabah government’s Aidilfitri open house held at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC), here, today.

The lively celebration was attended by the Sabah Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Juhar Mahiruddin, and his wife Toh Puan Norlidah R.M Jasni.

Also present were Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor and his wife, Datin Seri Juliah Salag, as well as the state cabinet ministers.

Guests were served delicious dishes including satay, ketupat, lemang and rendang, from 200 stalls set up at the celebration.

They were also entertained by singing performances by local artistes.

Deputy Chief Minister III Datuk Shahelmey Yahya said that the open house received a very good response, with the presence of people from various walks of life continuing to flood the SICC throughout the event, from 10 am to 2 pm.

‘I hope this event can strengthen the relationship of the various races in Sabah,” he told reporters, after the celebration.
