OVER 25,000 VISITORS EXPECTED FOR MELAKA MUNAJAT PROGRAMME

More than 25,000 visitors are expected to attend the "Melaka Munajat" programme, which features famous Indonesian preacher Abdul Somad Batubara, at Dataran Sejarah, Ayer Keroh, here on July 13.

State Education, Higher Education and Religious Affairs Committee chairman Datuk Rahmad Mariman said the programme, held in conjunction with the Maal Hijrah 1445H celebration, will begin at 7 pm with congregational maghrib prayers, followed by the reading of zikir munajat, salawat and nasyid performances.

He said the highlight of the programme will be a special lecture by Abdul Somad.

“I welcome Muslims from within and outside the state to come to the Melaka Munajat programme and take part in the activities that have been lined up.

“For congregational Maghrib prayers, we will be providing prayer mats but visitors are also advised to bring their own prayer mats for their convenience,” he told reporters after the montlHy assembly of the Melaka state islamic religious agencies here today.

Rahmad said the programme was also held in collaboration with several parties namely the Melaka Islamic Religious Council, the Melaka Mufti Department, the Hang Tuah Jaya Municipal Council and the State Islamic Religious Department.

He added that the Melaka Munajat Programme will be one of the main programmes of the religious sub-sector under the Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM 2024) campaign as it is expected to attract visitors from within and outside the state.
