Over 2,700 UniSZA Students Engage in Business and Innovation Activities

Kuala terengganu: A total of 2,733 students of Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) were identified as being actively involved in business throughout last year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, UniSZA Centre for Career, Technopreneurship and Smart Networking (PaKaT) director Assoc Prof Dr. Fazida Karim attributed this accomplishment to the Ministry of Higher Education's Entrepreneurship Action Plan (PTK), which promoted student participation in business activities, innovation, and strategic collaboration with industry players.

Dr. Fazida highlighted that the university's well-developed entrepreneurship ecosystem played a crucial role in this achievement, offering talent development, financing support, and practical exposure to market environments. She noted that the focused execution of PTK enabled UniSZA to meet all seven Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to student business involvement and partnerships with industry.

The active student participation underscores UniSZA's dedication to cultivating graduates who can generate their own employment opportunities. Dr. Fazida also mentioned that PaKaT secured over RM500,000 in entrepreneurship funding last year to bolster the university's entrepreneurship ecosystem for students and alumni.

The university's initiatives included the Digital Innovation Creativepreneur (DICE) 3.0 Programme, which drew 742 participants from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei, enhancing regional entrepreneurship networks. Dr. Fazida further noted that data shows 279 graduates continued their business ventures post-graduation, demonstrating the lasting impact of PTK on UniSZA's graduates.
