Penang MACC Intensifies Anti-corruption Programmes In Schools.

GEORGE TOWN: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) of Penang is intensifying its campaigns and programmes at all schools in the state to provide exposure at the grassroots level regarding the dangers of corruption. Its director, Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah, believes that continuous early exposure to the corruption menace can keep the public away from committing the offence.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Penang MACC is implementing various anti-corruption programmes at schools, particularly targeting primary schools to educate young minds about the evils of corruption and instil a sense of disdain towards bribery. The initiative aims to create awareness from an early age, fostering an environment where future generations can grow up with a strong aversion to corrupt practices.

Datuk Mohd Fuad Bee Basrah emphasized that the programme would extend to universities through initiatives like the Student Anti-Corruption Force. This platform seeks to provide continuous exposure to students, who are
seen as future leaders, thereby reinforcing the importance of integrity and transparency in all aspects of life.

This announcement was made during the launch of the MADANI Governance Strengthening and Its Impact on Society Forum, organized by Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) at the Auditorium Murad Md Noor Sains@USM Bukit Jambul.
