Putatan: Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the 17th Sabah State Election in the Tanjung Keramat state seat, Jeffery Nor Mohamed, has pledged to resolve the long-standing water supply problems in the area. Jeffery Nor, who is also the Putatan UMNO Division chief, stated that water issues have evolved from a basic concern to a daily burden impacting the lives of residents in the constituency.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Jeffery Nor emphasized the severity of the water problems faced by the community, noting that the need for water storage solutions, such as blue tanks, is not limited to rural areas. “Who says only rural communities need blue tanks (to store water). here in Putatan, we also need blue tanks because we face water issues,” he remarked. He committed to prioritizing the resolution of water supply issues if elected as an assemblyman, asserting that BN has a track record of understanding and addressing the people’s challenges.
Jeffery Nor further elaborated that tackling water supply issues is part of BN Putatan’s strategy to rebuild public trust in the coalition’s governance. He expressed confidence in BN’s ability to provide stable and effective leadership that can effectively address the community’s needs.
On his campaign’s progress, Jeffery Nor reported an encouraging response from the public. “I have gone into villages and held walkabouts at shop areas and ‘tamu’ (weekly markets). I found that the people here want an assemblyman from BN, which is seen as capable of resolving their issues,” he stated. The Election Commission (EC) has designated November 25 for early voting, with the official polling day set for November 29.
