Kota kinabalu: Seat allocation negotiations between Barisan Nasional (BN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) for the 17th Sabah state election are in the final stage, with nearly 70 percent of the discussions concluded, announced Sabah BN chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin. He mentioned that a few seats still need to be finalized between the two parties to reach a mutual agreement before making an official announcement.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Bung Moktar stated that he plans to meet with the leaders on November 3 or 4 to resolve the pending issues regarding the seat distribution. The delay in finalizing the seat allocation is attributed to both parties’ interest in contesting certain areas. He also confirmed that BN plans to reduce the number of seats it will contest, having previously aimed to contest 48 seats in the upcoming state election.
Nomination for the state election is scheduled for November 15, with polling set to take place on November 29.
