Melaka: Syarikat Air Melaka Berhad (SAMB) has denied that the individual feared drowned in the Jus Dam area in Jasin is one of its employees. In a statement today, SAMB clarified that the victim is a worker from one of its panel contractor companies.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, a search and rescue operation is underway involving several agencies, including the Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) and the police. The company has also advised the public not to speculate on the incident pending official verification from the authorities.

An individual is feared to have drowned after falling into the Jus Dam in Batang Melaka at midnight last night. It is understood that the individual was carrying out routine maintenance work in the dam area when he is believed to have slipped and fallen into the water.
