SJMC Opens State-of-the-Art Cath Lab to Honor Renowned Cardiologist


Subang jaya: The Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) today launched a new catheterisation laboratory (Cath Lab) named in tribute to Datuk Dr Anuar Masduki, a highly esteemed cardiologist and physician in Malaysia.



According to BERNAMA News Agency, SJMC Chief Executive Officer and Asia OneHealthcare Regional Chief Executive Officer Bryan Lin stated that the ceremony was graced by the Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, and also marked SJMC’s 40th Anniversary. Dr Anuar Masduki, who was a pioneering member of SJMC’s founding medical team, had served as the personal cardiologist to the Sultan of Selangor.



Bryan Lin emphasized that naming the facility in Dr Anuar Masduki’s honor serves as a tribute to his enduring legacy in Malaysian healthcare. He described Dr Anuar Masduki as a visionary and a pioneer in the field of cardiology, whose contributions have left an indelible impact. Lin highlighted Dr Anuar’s dedication, wisdom, and compassion, stating that he was a humble and reliable physician who always prioritized patient care.



The ceremony was also attended by other members of the Selangor royal family, including Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and Tengku Panglima Raja of Selangor, Tengku Ahmad Shah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.



Bryan Lin further explained that the new cath lab, operational since May, represents a RM14 million investment. It enhances SJMC’s capacity to provide personalized care for complex heart conditions using minimally invasive techniques. The lab’s advanced technology, including the latest flex-arm equipment, allows for a broader range of procedures, reduced recovery times, and improved patient outcomes.
