According to BERNAMA News Agency, in immediate response upon receiving the sad news, Chief Ministers and Menteri Besar extended their condolences to the family of the former Prime Minister via Facebook. Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh said the fifth Prime Minister, affectionately known as 'Pak Lah', will always be remembered as a humble leader. He expressed personal grief and emphasized Abdullah's lasting impact on UMNO and the nation, highlighting his leadership in human capital development and Islam Hadhari.
Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari prayed for Abdullah's soul to be placed among the righteous, acknowledging the significant loss for the country. Perlis Menteri Besar Mohd Shukri Ramli noted Abdullah's establishment of the five Economic Development Corridors, particularly the Northern Corridor Economic Region (NCER), as a major legacy contributing to economic growth.
Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail also extended condolences and prayed for Abdullah's soul to be blessed with mercy. PAS president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang remembered Abdullah as a calm and courteous figure, advocating a moderate administrative approach.

Tun Abdullah passed away at the National Heart Institute (IJN) at 7.10 pm.
