Kuala lumpur: Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has mobilized 564 personnel in preparation for the 1447H/2026 Haj season, as announced by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hasan.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the deployment includes 339 Welfare Delegation officers from TH, its subsidiaries, and external agencies such as the Social Welfare Department, the National Registration Department, Pilgrims' Guidance Officers (PIHTAS), and retired TH staff. Additionally, 225 Medical Delegation officers from the Ministry of Health, including specialists, doctors, medical officers, pharmacists, and nurses, are part of the team.
The first flight carrying Haj personnel is scheduled to depart on April 9, with subsequent flights continuing in stages. Senator Dr. Zulkifli Hasan shared these details with reporters during the 1447H/2026 Haj Personnel Strengthening Programme at Kem Permata Resort. The event was also attended by his deputy, Senator Marhamah Rosli, TH chairman Tan Sri Abdul Rashid Hussain, and TH Group managing director and chief executive officer, Mustakim Mohamad.
The four-day programme, which started today, is designed to ensure that all Haj personnel maintain a high level of preparedness and professionalism in serving pilgrims in the Holy Land. The programme focuses on enhancing management skills, adherence to quality systems, and reinforcing values of integrity and compassion among Haj personnel, who represent the frontline of the country's Haj services.
The first flight of Malaysian pilgrims is planned for departure on April 18, with the final flight set for May 20. The Day of Arafah, also known as Wukuf Day, is anticipated to occur on May 26. A total of 100 charter flights will be operated, involving AMAL by Malaysia Airlines Berhad and Saudia Airlines.
