KUALA LUMPUR: Tigo Energy Inc (Tigo), a provider of intelligent solar and energy software solutions, has announced its intention to present advanced solar safety technology in collaboration with Solar Hive, a regional equipment distribution leader, at an event scheduled for November 25 in Kuala Lumpur. The Tigo Solar Hive Technical Event will spotlight the increasing importance of solar safety and the methods installers can use to comply with new Malaysian market regulations, featuring their innovative solar rapid shutdown and monitoring solutions.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Tigo Energy’s chief marketing and customer experience officer, James (JD) Dillon, emphasized the necessity for installers to prepare for rapid shutdown standards and noted the significance of the seminar in offering both educational resources and practical lessons derived from global markets. Dillon mentioned the potential of the Malaysian market for solar expansion and expressed anticipation in supporting this growth.
With the g
rowing attention on rapid shutdown in Malaysia and support from fire safety organizations, the event aims to address the increasing need for such systems. Tigo’s partnership with Solar Hive will demonstrate the Tigo TS4-X product line, which allows installers to utilize high-power modules up to 800 watts, suitable for commercial, industrial, and utility-scale uses. This product, incorporating Tigo’s patented technology, is compatible with 980 inverter models from 48 third-party brands and features safety, monitoring, and optimization capabilities to ensure efficiency and versatility in energy-critical sectors.
The Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia (JBPM) has issued guidelines on fire safety for rooftop solar installations, paving the way for rapid shutdown requirements similar to those in the United States and increasingly adopted globally. Tigo views this as an opportunity to educate stakeholders on the value of these systems in mitigating critical risks and enhancing safety in rooftop solar installati
ons. As a leader in module-level power electronics (MLPE), Tigo showcases how its solutions ensure compliance while improving safety and operational efficiency.
Additionally, during the event, both companies will provide educational materials, including case studies from successful installations across Asia, and offer hands-on training on rapid shutdown and monitoring technologies facilitated by the Tigo Energy Intelligence platform, aiming to further advance Malaysia’s solar community.
