Transport Expo 2025 Aims to Boost Green Digital Cooperation and Attract Investments

Kuala lumpur: Transport Expo Asia (TXA) 2025 will act as a strategic platform to draw foreign investment and enhance international cooperation in the green and digital transport sectors, as stated by the Transport Ministry.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah emphasized that TXA 2025 is more than just an industrial exhibition. It serves as a crucial avenue to introduce government policies, investment opportunities, and innovative projects to global and local industry players.

The ministry’s main focus for TXA 2025 is to attract foreign investments and strengthen international collaboration in the green and digital transport sectors. Earlier today, Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook inaugurated the inaugural TXA 2025, themed “Future on the Move: Digital, Sustainable Transport, Agile Logistics and ESG-Driven Supply Chains.”

Hasbi highlighted that TXA also acts as a regional industry meeting hub, facilitating the exchange of knowledge, technology, and inn
ovations among ASEAN transport industry stakeholders. It connects policymakers, industry operators, and technology providers to enhance the integration of the ASEAN transport system through conferences and exhibitions.

TXA supports the implementation of smoother and eco-friendly regional mobility strategies, aiding Malaysia’s ambitions to become a sustainable regional logistics hub. On the government’s role, Hasbi noted that policies like the logistics and trade facilitation master plan and the implementation of green transport actions show the government’s commitment to sustainable development.

The government plays a key role through policy formulation, including tax incentives for green technologies, the development of low-carbon infrastructure, and the use of renewable energy in logistics and public transport sectors. TXA brings together over 100 global companies to enable local firms to establish partnerships and build capacity, ensuring benefits are shared through tech transfer and joint investments.

The Ministry of Transport will continue to support the private sector in implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices and accelerating digital transformation. The ministry provides ESG guidelines and encourages incentives and financial support while promoting the adoption of automation technology, digital systems, and smart solutions.

However, challenges such as the high cost of implementing technology and limited renewable energy infrastructure persist. The ministry addresses these challenges by collaborating with industry and international agencies to expand green technology adoption.

To balance development and environmental concerns, the ministry has adopted a green infrastructure approach to ensure every project adheres to environmental impact assessment guidelines. TXA 2025 will also feature the Road Safety Congress, focusing on road safety and public awareness.

In conclusion, Hasbi stated that TXA emphasizes innovation, technology, and smart mobility, while the Road Safety Congr
ess focuses on road safety and enforcement. Together, they aim to achieve safety and sustainability, the objectives of national transport.
