UDA Holdings Berhad first MEDAC agency to be ABMS-certified

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 10 — UDA Holdings Berhad (UDA), a real estate development and assets and facilities management company emerged as the first agency under the Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (MEDAC) to obtain the ISO 37001:2016 Anti-Bribery Management Systems (ABMS) certification since Aug 31 this year.

UDA chairman Datuk Norliza Abdul Rahim said the certification serves as a medium to streamline plans and procedures pertaining to governance, integrity and anti-bribery in handling corporate liabilities under Section 17A of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009.

“This recognition will be able to measure anti-corruption actions based on international standards, as well as going in line with the National Anti-Corruption Plan (NACP) 2019-2023.

“I’m confident that the ISO 37001:2016 ABMS, along with the UDA Adequate Procedures will reinforce a sense of dignity and also instil values of integrity among UDA Group staff.

“The certification will also continue UDA’s legacy of being free from bribes and ethics-breaking actions,” she said after receiving the ABMS certificate from ABAC Centre of Excellence Limited, United Kingdom (ABAC), an international certification board, represented by its manager, Nor Hidaya Aziz, here.

Norliza said UDA would also ensure that every action taken to respond to MEDAC’s empowerment of an Entrepreneur Nation in each of its business segments is based on integrity, accountability and transparency to counteract bribery, irregularity, as well as misuse of authority.
