Mania: The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) seized over PHP1.2 million in suspected shabu and made dozens of arrests during its region-wide Simultaneous Anti-criminality Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted from September 22 to 28: The Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (NOrPPO) reported significant achievements in its weeklong campaign against crime, seizing a substantial amount of illegal drugs and apprehending numerous suspects across the province.
According to Philippines News Agency, Lt. Stephen Polinar, spokesperson of the NOrPPO, stated that the anti-illegal drug operations during the campaign resulted in the seizure of 181.2 grams of suspected shabu and the arrest of 13 suspects. The operations were part of a broader initiative aimed at tackling various criminal activities in the region.
The weeklong SACLEO also targeted wanted individuals, resulting in the arrest of 53 fugitives. Among those apprehended were 10 classified as Most Wanted Persons and 43 Other Wanted Persons. These arrests were made during 52 separate operations across the province.
In addition to drug and fugitive operations, authorities also focused on addressing the issue of loose firearms, confiscating or securing the surrender of 29 firearms during 28 operations. Furthermore, illegal gambling activities were targeted, leading to the arrest of 28 individuals and the confiscation of PHP2,988 in bet money during 12 operations.
Local ordinances were also enforced, resulting in the apprehension of 1,799 individuals for various violations. The campaign’s momentum continued into the following week, with the latest arrest occurring in Mabinay town, where a suspected drug pusher was detained. Authorities seized 10 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP68,000 during this operation.
The 34-year-old suspect from Mabinay is currently held at the local police station as a formal complaint is being prepared. Polinar emphasized that these sustained operations are part of the police’s ongoing commitment to ensuring safety and security throughout the province.
