YAPEIM Invests RM16.44 Million in Housing Projects Across Malaysia

Kuala lumpur: Yayasan Pembangunan Ekonomi Islam Malaysia (YAPEIM) has invested RM16.44 million in the development and repair of 356 housing projects throughout Malaysia since 2020 up to December of the previous year, as revealed by its director-general, Zabidi Nasan. A total of 260 of these projects have been completed, with 96 still under construction. In Kelantan alone, YAPEIM has executed 49 projects, which comprised 28 new houses and 21 house repairs, with an allocation of RM2.4 million.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Zabidi stated that these housing initiatives are not only aimed at providing comfortable living spaces but also represent the government's commitment to fostering a caring society where those in need are supported. During the Sinar Lestari YAPEIM handover event, a new house valued at RM85,284 was presented to recipient Siti Rubiah Jusoh, 48, facilitated by YAPEIM's strategic partner, Cagamas Berhad.

In the previous year alone, YAPEIM completed the construction and restoration of 80 houses and aims to increase this number by 10 percent in the current year. Since its inception in 1985, the foundation has distributed over RM725 million to 10.1 million beneficiaries through various programs focused on economic development, education, and community initiatives implemented inclusively and holistically.

Furthermore, YAPEIM operates the Ar Rahnu YAPEIM micro-payment financing service through its 201 branches, assisting traders and entrepreneurs with short-term financing needs. From 2000 to November 2025, Ar Rahnu YAPEIM has provided financing to about a million individuals, amounting to RM14.2 million, with a collateral value reaching RM28.6 billion.
