Zamri Zainal Abidin appointed new Yadim CEO

PUTRAJAYA, Feb 15 (Bernama) — Special functions officer to the Prime Minister, Zamri Zainal Abidin, has been appointed as the new chief executive officer (CEO) of Yayasan Dakwah Islam Malaysia (Yadim), effective today.

Yadim, in a statement today, announced that Zamri is replacing Tuan Kamarul Arief Tuan Soh, who has held the position since 2019.

It said that Zamri, who graduated from Al-Azhar University, has extensive experience in public administration as he has worked in several government agencies.

It also said that, before being appointed as a special functions officer to the Prime Minister, Zamri had held the position of senior secretary to the Islamic Religious exco at the Selangor Secretary’s Office, and Islamic Affairs special officer to former Deputy Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

“He has also held the position of the senior producer at Radio Ikim.FM, the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM),” read the statement.

Yadim hopes that Zamri’s vast experience can drive the foundation as the leading agency of the dakwah movement in spreading ‘rahmah’ (compassion) in Islam, in line with the concept of Madani Malaysia.

The concept of Madani (civilised) Malaysia was introduced by Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, on Jan 19, based on six pillars, namely sustainability, prosperity, innovation, respect, trust and compassion.
