Masjid tanah: A boy who went missing after reportedly falling into a drain in Taman Bidara Permai, Masjid Tanah, was found drowned tonight. Chief of Zone 2 of the Melaka Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) Fire Superintendent Zulkhairani Ramli stated that the victim's body was discovered at 8.35 pm after a two-and-a-half-hour search.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the victim was 11 years old and his body was found caught in a branch about 600 metres from the last location where he was seen. Zulkhairani further explained that the Water Rescue Team employed a rapid deployment approach and conducted surface water searches due to high and strong water levels.

Earlier, Zulkhairani said they received a call regarding the incident at 5.47 pm before fire and rescue personnel arrived at the scene 13 minutes later.
