11 Youths Arrested Over Miri Waterfront Brawl

Miri: Police have arrested 11 youths aged between 16 and 25 over an armed brawl at the Miri Waterfront early yesterday morning. The arrests followed a one-minute video that went viral on social media showing the fight, which allegedly broke out after two men 'shoulder-checked' each other.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Miri police chief ACP Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah stated that the fight, which occurred at around 2.05 am, left a local man injured. 'The victim received treatment at the General Hospital and is reported to be in stable condition,' he said in a statement today.

He further noted that various types of weapons were seized by police as case material, and investigations are being conducted under Section 324/148 of the Penal Code for using deadly weapons in a riot.
