Kelantan: A total of 1,102 licensed telecommunication towers in Kelantan are currently regulated by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), the state legislative assembly was informed. Education, Higher Education, Green Technology, Digital and Innovation Committee chairman Datuk Wan Roslan Wan Hamat disclosed that out of these, 990 towers are constructed on land, while 112 are situated on building rooftops.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the annual fee for a telecommunication tower stands at RM2,750, which includes a permit fee of RM2,000 for the tower or structure and a business licence fee of RM750. Furthermore, the licence for utilizing agricultural land for the construction of these towers is priced at RM500 annually, whereas the fee for permission to use building land is RM1,000 per year. These fees contribute an estimated RM3,030,500 annually to the state's revenue, which is subsequently channelled to local authorities (PBT).

In a related matter, Agriculture, Agro-Food Industry and Commodities Committee chairman Datuk Tuan Mohd Saripudin Tuan Ismail stated that the state government is making continuous efforts to attract young people to the agricultural sector as a viable income source. He highlighted that the government is actively providing information on various assistance and incentives available from both state and federal authorities. This includes offering start-up grants ranging from RM30,000 to RM50,000 for eligible applicants.
