115 Houses and Four Public Facilities Damaged in Temerloh Storm

Kuala Lumpur: A total of 115 houses and four public facilities have been recorded as damaged as of noon today due to heavy rain and storms in Temerloh yesterday. The incident, which occurred at 5 pm, has affected numerous areas including Taman Sri Kerinau, Kampung Pulau Terap, Taman Pamah Kasih, Taman Pulai Bistari, Kampung Batu 4 1/2 Jalan Maran, Kampung Paya Luas, and Kampung Padang Lalang.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Temerloh District Civil Defense officer Capt (PA) Mohamad Irwan Mohamad reported that homes in Kampung Tok Embun, Kampung Bangau Parit, Kampung Tanjung Besar, Kampung Bangau Tanjung, and Jalan Sri Layang were also impacted. Public facilities such as the Dewan Belia Kampung Paya Luas, Astaka Padang Bola Kampung Paya Luas, Tabika Kemas Bukit Resak, and Sekolah Kebangsaan Paya Pulai suffered damages as well.

Capt Mohamad stated, "As of 1.30 pm, 115 houses and four public facilities were damaged. No injuries or fatalities were reported in this incident, and no temporary evacuation centres were opened." He emphasized that cleaning operations are actively being conducted by various parties, including security forces like the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM), Malaysian Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM), Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM), Malaysian Armed Forces, and local residents.

Additionally, the APM and Department of Social Welfare have been dispatched to the affected sites for monitoring and information gathering. They have also delivered basic necessities and food kits to those impacted by the storm.
