Kuala lumpur: Telecommunications coverage issues in rural areas such as the Asahan state constituency have been addressed with the construction of 13 new telecommunications towers over three years.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Asahan assemblyman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan stated that resolving broadband access issues is a key component in realising Asahan's vision as a Kampung Sejahtera. He emphasized the necessity of reliable telecommunications infrastructure for community well-being, noting that technology utilization is crucial for the people.
Fairul Nizam expressed his support for the state government's initiative to develop Asahan as a Kampung Sejahtera, highlighting its diverse population comprising Malays, Chinese, Indians, and the Orang Asli community. He made these remarks after the launch of the Wakil Rakyat Untuk Rakyat (WRUR) programme and the Melaka Sayang Rakyat Aidilfitri celebration for the Asahan constituency, which was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh at Sekolah Kebangsaan Felda Bukit Senggeh.
He further mentioned that a total of 115 programmes have been planned in conjunction with WRUR, running until April 12, involving various government departments and agencies to engage the local community. Fairul Nizam, who also chairs the state Science, Technology, Innovation and Digital Communication Committee, added that the programme includes more than 500 Orang Asli through 10 special initiatives.
