Kuala lumpur: The tabling of the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) in Parliament on Thursday represents a significant milestone in charting the nation's medium-term development course, said Alliance for a Safe Community chairman Tan Sri Lee Lam Thye. This strategic plan aims to navigate the country through global economic uncertainties, technological advances, climate pressures, and demographic changes, providing an opportunity to refocus priorities, enhance resilience, and steer the nation towards sustainable and inclusive progress.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Lee highlighted the plan's intent to tackle critical national challenges, including income inequality, digital transformation, transition to a green economy, and institutional reform. He noted that the plan's success would hinge not only on its ambitious goals but also on discipline, transparency, and effective execution across all levels of government and society.
Lee underscored the need for a robust and transparent monitoring system to track progress on key targets, with focused follow-up essential for effective implementation. Regular public reporting and performance audits would play a crucial role in ensuring accountability and enabling course corrections when necessary.
