17 PMK Programmes Scheduled Across Malaysia in 2023

Gopeng: A total of 17 MADANI Kita (PMK) programmes will be organized by the Community Communication Department (J-KOM) in conjunction with the Prime Minister's Department's Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) throughout Malaysia this year.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, J-KOM director-general Mohd Hisyamuddin Ghazali revealed that the initiative, which commenced on June 27, has already been conducted in locations such as Chuah (Negeri Sembilan), Kota Raja (Selangor), Sepanggar (Sabah), and Simpang Pulai (Perak). Upcoming events are set to take place next week in Bayan Baru (Pulau Pinang), Kuantan (Pahang), and Gopeng (Perak).

Hisyamuddin explained that the PMK programmes aim to assess the public's understanding of government plans. By collaborating with entities like the Information Department and the National Unity Department, PMK seeks to deliver public services and aid directly to grassroots communities. This was articulated to reporters during the PMK event with the Simpang Pulai community at Dewan Orang Ramai Rapat Setia.

Gopeng MP Tan Kar Hing, alongside Perak Housing and Local Government Committee chairman Sandrea Ng Shy Ching and Simpang Pulai assemblyman Wong Chai Yi, attended the event, which is expected to draw approximately 2,000 participants. Tan emphasized that PMK serves as a unique platform by prioritizing the people as the main focus, differing from traditional official protocols.

Furthermore, Tan endorsed the government's strategy of empowering MPs and assemblymen to lead such community programmes, which is intended to enhance local leadership connections with constituents. He noted that the approach of engaging directly with the community aligns with the regular Temu Rakyat programme in the Gopeng parliamentary constituency.
