2,000 Muallim Residents Participate in Patriotic Roadshow

Muallim: About 2,000 local residents took part in the Kembara Merdeka Jalur Gemilang X JAGO 2026 programme in the Muallim district, held at Dataran RM Idris here today. The programme aimed to bring the message of patriotism closer to the people while encouraging the community to fly the Jalur Gemilang in conjunction with the National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the event commenced at 4.30 pm and featured the Jalur Gemilang X JAGO team visiting several locations across the district. The team engaged with residents, spreading the spirit of independence, joy, and unity. The programme was launched by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Chang Lih Kang, who is also the Tanjong Malim MP, and was attended by Perak Information Department (JAPEN) director Hasmiza Hussin.

Hasmiza explained that the roadshow convoy had travelled around the Muallim district to distribute national flags to community members. She highlighted that the activity provided an opportunity to engage with the community and foster patriotism among local residents. "Today, our convoy travelled around the Muallim district to distribute Jalur Gemilang. The afternoon tea gathering provided an opportunity for us to mingle and exchange views, as well as engage with traders and members of the community during a walkabout at the night market," she said in her speech at the programme.

Meanwhile, Perak Communications, Multimedia and NGO Committee chairman Mohd Azlan Helmi noted that efforts to engage with the public and raise awareness about the National Month had received an encouraging response. He emphasized that programmes of this nature were important in fostering the spirit of unity among the community, particularly the younger generation.
