Kuala lumpur: The 2026 Academic Calendar for National Schools and Government Aided Schools will commence from January 11 to December 31, 2026, for Group A states, and from January 12 to December 31, 2026, for Group B states, as announced by the Ministry of Education (MOE).
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the MOE released a statement indicating that the 2026 Academic Calendar is available for download on the MOE portal via the link https://www.moe.gov.my/surat-siaran-kpm-bil-3-tahun2025-kalendar-akademi.
Group A includes schools in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu, while Group B comprises schools in Johor, Melaka, Negeri Sembilan, Pahang, Perak, Perlis, Penang, Sabah, Sarawak, Selangor, the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, the Federal Territory of Labuan, and the Federal Territory of Putrajaya.
The statement highlighted that the transition back to a January start for the school session was achieved gradually and systematically, ensuring no disruption to the operations of educational institutions. This move reflects the result of detailed planning and steadfast commitment from education staff across all levels.
Additionally, the ministry has aligned the dates for festive holidays during the 2026 school year, covering celebrations such as Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Kaamatan Festival, Hari Gawai Dayak, and Christmas Day. The Ministry emphasized that this effort underscores its determination to prioritize the well-being of students, teachers, and all school staff.
