21 GGK Members Urged To Guard Against Integrity Threats

Tanjung leman: Leadership and personnel of the 21st Special Service Group (21 GGK) have been reminded to stay alert to issues that could compromise the unit's integrity, including bullying, debt, gambling, drug and ketum abuse, and unauthorised absenteeism. Commander of 21 GGK Major General Datuk Ahmad Shuhaimi Mat Wajab stressed the need to continuously enhance operational skills and leadership to ensure the Special Forces Regiment and 21 GGK remain formidable and respected.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ahmad Shuhaimi emphasized the importance of internalizing the country's land and military strategies to keep 21 GGK relevant in supporting the Armed Forces Future Force (AMH) development. He delivered these remarks at the closing ceremony of the Basic Commando Course held at Tanjung Leman Beach. Notable attendees included Tenggaroh state assemblyman K. Raven Kumar and Mersing district officer Jamil Hasni Abdullah.

The event showcased demonstrations of hostage rescue operations, parachuting, special forces combat, war dog displays, and the Green Beret award ceremony. Out of 189 candidates, only 48 personnel completed the demanding 12-week course, which requires peak physical and mental endurance, reflecting a 25.3 per cent pass rate.

'The Green Beret you wear must never be tainted by misconduct or disciplinary breaches that harm the team's reputation,' Ahmad Shuhaimi warned. He further stated, 'With evolving security challenges demanding greater courage, sharper intellect and unwavering loyalty, be ready to be the 'shadow before the storm', carrying this duty with honour and dedication.'
