225 Malaysian Medical Personnel To Depart For Haj Duties Next Week

Putrajaya: A total of 225 Malaysian medical personnel will depart for the Holy Land next week to serve during the 1447H/2026 haj season. Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad has confirmed the deployment, emphasizing the importance of their roles amidst ongoing geopolitical challenges in West Asia.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Dr Dzulkefly highlighted the well-managed haj operations, attributing this success to the strong diplomacy exercised by the MADANI government, led by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, alongside cooperation with the Saudi Arabian government. Despite these geopolitical issues, the commitment to ensuring a smooth haj season remains steadfast.

Dr Dzulkefly expressed his expectations for the medical personnel, stating, "When the government has done its best, I hope personnel on the ground will respond with the highest level of commitment. This year's operations also require the team to be more responsive and dynamic." He pointed out the absence of a Tabung Haji (TH) treatment center, which means pilgrims will be referred directly to Saudi government hospitals, thus requiring the Malaysian medical team to exhibit proactiveness, patience, and diplomacy.

Earlier, Dr Dzulkefly had the opportunity to meet the 225 personnel during a session with the Ministry of Health's top management in Putrajaya. He took the occasion to congratulate the team, urging them to carry out their duties with responsibility, for the benefit of the nation, religion, and humanity.
