2,403 Rahmah Madani Sales Events Implemented in Sarawak, Reports Minister

Sarawak: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has successfully conducted 2,403 Rahmah Madani Sales Programme (PJRM) events across Sarawak from January 1 to August 31 this year. Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, the minister in charge, highlighted the increasing number of PJRM events held annually in the region.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Armizan stated that Sarawak saw 736 PJRM events in 2023, with the number rising to 1,148 in 2024. By 2025, the events almost doubled to 2,584. This growth is attributed to positive public reception and continuous improvements in the programme's execution each year.

Armizan also mentioned that starting in 2024, PJRM was established as a permanent government programme, backed by a specific allocation within the 'Payung Rahmah' initiative in the annual budget. The programme mandates a minimum of three events monthly across 600 State Legislative Assembly constituencies, including 40 zones in the Federal Territories.

He pointed out that there has been an expansion in opportunities for companies, businesses, and cooperatives within the retail subsector to participate in PJRM. Public access to the sales programme has been enhanced through on-site, off-site, and mobile PJRM methods, and the organisation of themed events during festive seasons and school holidays.
