Batu Pahat:A total of 35 areas nationwide reported unhealthy Air Pollutant Index (API) readings as of 10 am today.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Batu Pahat in Johor and Johan Setia in Selangor registered the highest API readings at 190 each. This was closely followed by Cheras in Kuala Lumpur and Nilai in Negeri Sembilan, both at 189, and Putrajaya at 187.
Other locations with high API readings included Shah Alam (180), Petaling Jaya (176), Banting (176), and Klang (169) in Selangor; Batu Muda in Kuala Lumpur at 177; as well as Tanjung Malim (154), Tasek Ipoh (147), and Pegoh Ipoh (113) in Perak. In Negeri Sembilan, Seremban recorded an API of 181 and Port Dickson 169.
In Melaka, Bukit Rambai recorded a reading of 175, while Alor Gajah and Bandaraya Melaka each recorded 174. Johor areas such as Segamat (177), Pasir Gudang (173), Tangkak (169), Larkin (167), Pengerang (165), Kota Tinggi (164), and Kluang (161) also registered unhealthy levels.
In Pahang, Temerloh had an API of 168, followed by Indera Mahkota (160), Jerantut (159), Rompin (158), Balok Baru (156), and Kuantan (156). Terengganu saw API readings of 156 in Kemaman, Paka, and Kuala Terengganu recorded a reading of 120.
Elsewhere, Tawau in Sabah recorded an API of 155, while the Serian Police headquarters in Sarawak had a reading of 152.
Meanwhile, 31 areas reported moderate API levels, and two areas registered good air quality. The API scale indicates that readings of 0 to 50 are considered good, 51 to 100 moderate, 101 to 200 unhealthy, 201 to 300 very unhealthy, and 300 and above hazardous.
