47 FELCRA Seri Gala PPSK Participants Receive Land Ownership Grants

Kuala lumpur: A total of 47 participants of the FELCRA Berhad Seri Gala Area Village Rearrangement Programme (PPSK) received land ownership grants, reflecting the success of the rural development model that ensures land ownership and enhances the well-being of the people.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Saarani Mohamad described the FELCRA Consolidation and Rehabilitation (PandP) Programme as one of the most successful rural development models because it not only developed previously unproductive land but also successfully invigorated the community's economy, created job opportunities, expanded local business activities, and increased the community's confidence in the potential for rural development.

"The handover of land ownership grants to participants is not merely an administrative task, but an effort to uplift the dignity of rural people through legitimate asset ownership, thereby ensuring the economic security and future of the participants' families.

"The FELCRA PandP Programme has proven its effectiveness through a more systematic and economical land development approach that provides continuous benefits to participants. This development model has successfully transformed land that was previously not optimally utilised into a sustainable economic resource, increased returns for participants, built community confidence in the value of their land, and strengthened the balance of development between urban and rural areas," he said.

He said this while speaking at the PPSK Grant Handover Ceremony and inauguration of the Felcra Berhad Seri Gala PPSK Grand Hall today.

Also present were State Rural Development, Plantation, Agriculture and Food Industry Committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun, FELCRA Berhad chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Jazlan Yaakub, and FELCRA Berhad director of participant affairs Zainal Abidin Alias.

Meanwhile, Zainal Abidin said that overall, FELCRA Berhad has successfully managed a development area of nearly 32,000 hectares involving almost 20,000 participants.

He said this makes Perak one of the second largest FELCRA operational regions in the country, after Pahang.

"We take inspiration from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Rural and Regional Development (Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi) who said recently during the World Rural Development Day 2026 celebration in Jengka, Pahang, that rural development today can no longer be viewed solely in terms of physical development.

"On the contrary, rural development needs to be implemented comprehensively, encompassing human capital development, strengthening community economies, enhancing entrepreneurship, people's welfare, and the ability of rural communities to determine their own future," Zainal Abidin added.
