5.2-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Flores, Indonesia

Flores: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Flores region of Indonesia at 9.31 am today.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) reported that the earthquake was detected at coordinates 8.2 degrees South and 120.6 degrees East, approximately 210 kilometres east of Bima, Indonesia.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 45 kilometres and posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia, as stated by MetMalaysia.
