56 Security Members Complete Counter-Terrorist Team, Sniper 69 Commando Courses

Ipoh: A total of 56 security personnel today successfully completed the Counter Terrorist Team (CTT) Course and Sniper 69 Commando Series 1/2025. The course, which began on June 15 and ended today, involved six officers and 50 personnel of other ranks from the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and Armed Forces, covering marksmanship, tactical raids, close-range combat operations, and extreme security crisis simulations.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Khalid Ismail stated that the two courses not only challenged physical endurance but also tested the patience, discipline, mental acuity, and emotional resilience of the elite participants. He remarked, "Successfully completing this course is not only a personal achievement but also a great responsibility to continue with excellence in securing the nation's security defence." The statement was made during the closing ceremony at the Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp.

Also present at the ceremony were Commander SAC Hamzah Hashim of 69 Commando and Perak Deputy Police Chief DCP Mohammad Azlin Sadari. Khalid emphasized the participation of 'friendly forces', including the Malaysian Armed Forces (ATM) comprising the Special Operations Group (GGK), the Naval Special Forces (PASKAL), and the Air Special Forces (PASKAU), demonstrating strong integration and solidarity among the country's key security agencies.

Meanwhile, Hashim noted that the participants will advance to the next phase, Sea Combat (SECOM), which focuses on mastering combat and underwater operations, followed by the Tactical Parachute Course. He highlighted that the process exposes participants to contemporary threats with deployment skills across land, sea, and air, aiming to develop versatile Commando Infantry and transform the unit into a multispectrum force.

Furthermore, Hashim revealed that the 69 Commando is in the process of submitting a proposal under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) for constructing new quarters in the SNS Camp. He stated, "The Sultan Nazrin Shah Camp not only serves as a centre for producing special infantry forces for the Royal Malaysian Police but also acts as a platform for strategic cooperation with domestic as well as international security agencies. It is also a symbol of our continued readiness and commitment in safeguarding the country's sovereignty."
