Sanya: The 6th Asian Beach Games commenced in China's tropical resort city of Sanya on Wednesday evening. The opening ceremony took place at the scenic seaside Yasha Park, marking the start of the much-anticipated continental event.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Games were officially declared open by Chinese State Councilor Shen Yiqin. A total of 45 delegations participated in the opening ceremony, which had been postponed from its original schedule in 2020.
