Kuala lumpur: An 80-year-old woman has been arrested following a tragic road accident on Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, which resulted in the death of a policeman. The incident occurred yesterday when the woman's Perodua Myvi collided with a motorcycle ridden by Kpl Mohd Hafizan Othman, aged 33.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Ipoh district police chief ACP Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad confirmed that the female driver, who is a retiree, was unharmed in the incident and was taken into custody at the scene. Urine tests conducted on the woman returned negative results for any substances.

The collision resulted in severe head injuries for Kpl Mohd Hafizan Othman, who succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Authorities have commenced an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which pertains to causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
