863 Youth Participated In Kembara JOM 2.0 In Kota Marudu, Sabah

Kota marudu: A total of 863 youth from Kota Kinabalu and Labuan participated in the Borneo Zone 1 Kembara Jumpa Orang Muda (Kembara JOM) 2.0 programme at Kampung Tagaroh, Kota Marudu, Sabah from Aug 15 to 17.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli, who was also at the programme, stated that Kembara JOM played a role in strengthening the rural youth empowerment agenda. Findings from the programme are expected to contribute to national youth development.

'Kembara JOM serves as a platform for profiling rural youth, setting up new associations, youth participation as well as the implementation of socio-economic studies and the needs of local youth,' said Adam Adli in a statement.

A total of RM31,710 was channelled through various agencies for the residents of Kampung Tagaroh during the programme. Additionally, the Sabah state development office has agreed to enhance infrastructure, provide welfare aid, and undertake the repair of a house along with the construction of a new house under the Sabah Maju Jaya scheme.

The programme also featured a townhall session with Adam Adli, volunteer activities, youth leadership development, and social entrepreneurial activities.
