92 Witness Statements Recorded Over 14-year-old Student’s Death In Setapak

Kuala lumpur: Police have recorded statements from 92 witnesses to assist in investigation into the death of a 14-year-old female student at a house in Jalan Langkawi, Setapak here, on Aug 18.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Fadil Marsus stated that the case is being investigated under Section 507B of the Penal Code. This section provides for a jail term of up to three years, a fine, or both, upon conviction. The investigation is being carried out by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Wangsa Maju District Police Headquarters (IPD) following a second police report lodged by the victim's mother a day after the incident.

Datuk Fadil Marsus emphasized that the case remains under investigation and advised the public to refrain from making any speculations regarding the incident. In his statement, he urged anyone with information related to the case to reach out to the investigating officer, ASP Baldev Singh Gurdial Singh, at 03-9289 9222 or 012-480 6062 to assist with the investigation.
