Kuala lumpur: Minister of National Unity Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang has expressed his grief over the flood disaster that struck the Rasuwa district in Nepal. Through a Facebook post today, he asked Malaysians to join in praying for the safety and well-being of the Nepali people affected by the disaster. He also prayed that the efforts for assistance and recovery could be carried out smoothly. "Our prayers and solidarity are with Nepal during this challenging time," he said.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Aaron also noted that he was praying for the safety of all Malaysians in Nepal and hopes they can be contacted by their families and the relevant authorities. Yesterday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim directed all relevant departments, including the National Security Council (MKN) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to immediately identify and contact Malaysians affected by the incident. Earlier, the Foreign Ministry reported that 57 Malaysians were still uncontactable following the major flood that struck Nepal yesterday. The latest figure is based on reports received from family members, friends, and employers as of 11 pm on Aug 27.
