Accusation Of Pluralism: Kesuma Lodges Police Report On Malicious Socmed Post

Putrajaya: An allegation that the Ministry of Human Resources (Kesuma) attempted to normalise elements of pluralism and liberalism at the Town Hall Gig Workers 2025 dialogue has been deemed to be a malicious accusation aimed at inciting religious sentiments. Kesuma stated it has lodged a police report at the Putrajaya district police headquarters today regarding the accusation made by a Facebook user.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, Kesuma categorised the allegation as a deliberate attempt to inflame religious sentiments with the intention of causing public unrest and tarnishing the ministry's image. The ministry emphasized that this accusation obscured the original objective of the program, which is to introduce a new law to provide rights and protection to 1.12 million gig workers in the country. Kesuma described the accusation as an effort to undermine the credibility of the civil servants in the ministry who are diligently working to prepare for the upcoming tabling of the Gig Workers Bill 2025.

Kesuma reiterated its commitment to upholding the principles of Rukun Negara, focusing on inclusiveness, unity, and respect among Malaysians. In response to the situation, Putrajaya police chief ACP Aidi Sham Mohamed confirmed that a report has been made at the Putrajaya IPD, but the case has been referred to the Shah Alam IPD for further investigation.

Earlier reports highlighted that a Facebook user with the account name 'Chegubard' claimed a banner promoting a town hall session organised by Kesuma featured a picture of a church, which was described as an effort to promote pluralism and secularism.
