Putrajaya: A male actor and singer suspected of committing sexual misconduct against a 17-year-old girl is set to be charged in the Putrajaya Court on June 17.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, Selangor Police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed that the prosecution directive was received from the Selangor Deputy Public Prosecutor's Office. The suspect will face charges under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017 for allegedly engaging in physical sexual misconduct with the victim.
Datuk Hussein Omar Khan emphasized the Royal Malaysia Police's commitment to ensuring justice is served. He noted that a thorough investigation had been conducted to protect the victim's rights and to maintain transparency in the legal process.
The incident came to light on June 4 when it was reported that the police had arrested the well-known actor and singer for the alleged misconduct at a hotel in the state.
