Muar: The Attorney-General's Chambers (AGC) has filed an appeal against the Muar Magistrates' Court sentence imposed on motoring influencer Tengku Nizaruddin Tengku Zainudin and his brother, Tengku Abdul Aziz. The court had sentenced them to one month's imprisonment and a RM1,500 fine for lodging a false report.
According to BERNAMA News Agency, the AGC's appeal targets the sentence given to Tengku Abdul Aziz, who admitted guilt under Section 182 of the Penal Code for providing false information to a public servant. The appeal also concerns the sentence for Tengku Nizaruddin, who was found guilty of abetting in the false report under Section 109, read together with Section 182 of the Penal Code.
The AGC's statement referenced the Muar Magistrates' Court decision dated July 25, 2025, which sentenced the siblings to one month in prison, effective from the date of conviction, and a RM1,500 fine each, with an alternative of three months' imprisonment for non-payment of the fine. The department has now moved to appeal this decision after a thorough review.
On the day of sentencing, the court directed Tengku Nizaruddin, also known as 'Ija', and his younger brother, Tengku Abdul Aziz, to commence their jail terms immediately or face additional imprisonment should they default on the fine.
